About NextPayday

What Is NextPayday?

NextPayday is a free, open payday calculator that helps you plan your finances by showing every upcoming payday for the year. Whether you are paid weekly, biweekly, semi-monthly, or monthly, the calculator generates a complete calendar of pay dates for 2026, automatically adjusted for weekends and public holidays.

Why We Built This

Knowing exactly when your paycheck will arrive is surprisingly important for day-to-day budgeting. Many people are caught off guard when a payday falls on a holiday and the deposit arrives a day early, or when a biweekly schedule produces three paychecks in a single month. We built NextPayday to answer one simple question: "When is my next payday?" The tool does this quickly, privately, and without requiring you to sign up for anything.

How It Works

You select your pay frequency, choose your country (US or UK), and enter your most recent payday. The calculator then projects every future pay date for the remainder of the year using standard payroll rules:

  • Weekly: Every 7 days from your anchor date.
  • Biweekly: Every 14 days from your anchor date.
  • Semi-monthly: The 15th and last day of each month.
  • Monthly: The last business day of each month.

When a projected payday falls on a weekend or recognized public holiday, it is shifted to the preceding business day, following the most common employer convention.

Where Our Data Comes From

Holiday data used for payday adjustments is sourced from official government publications:

  • United States federal holidays: Based on the schedule published by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM.gov).
  • United Kingdom bank holidays: Based on the official list published by the UK Government (GOV.UK).

We review and update this data annually to ensure accuracy. If you notice an error, please let us know.
